Alice Raia

Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Alice Raia is an accomplished leader who thrives on pushing the boundaries of technology to create an outstanding experience for people at some of their most vulnerable times. Built on family and personal experience, she has an innate sense of empathy, a fascination with technology, and a collaborative style. Alice creates transformational solutions tied to the mission of an organization. She engages with people and incorporates humor and fun into otherwise serious work. No matter the challenge, Alice delivers important outcomes. Currently, Alice is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Equality Health, a whole-health delivery system, aiming to improve access to value-based care for people who have long struggled with navigating the traditional one-size-fits-all U.S. healthcare system. Alice is responsible for leading the Engineering, Technology, Data, and InfoSec teams.

Previously, she was the VP of Digital Engineering at Kaiser Permanente, one of America’s leading health care providers. She was recruited to build a large engineering organization and Agile/DevOps practice to create the digital technology platforms and solutions in support of virtual health care delivery, to scale and extend care outside of brick & mortar facilities for market expansion and patient satisfaction.

Earlier, Alice was Senior Director of Web & Mobile Application Development at Blue Shield of California where she was instrumental in delivering a multiyear enterprise technology modernization program and received the company’s “Mission and Values in Action” Award. She began her career in software engineering with Hewlett Packard and Apple.

Alice has an MS in Management & Information Systems from Purdue University and a BS in Management from Miami University. She also completed the Harvard Business School Executive Leadership Program and the MIT Sloan Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy Program.
