Healthbi Readies for National Growth with the Addition of Scott Mcfarland

Published: September 19, 2017

Arizona-based Equality Health today announced that Scott McFarland has joined its executive team as the President of its HealthBI division. McFarland will grow the organization’s health information technology platforms, innovative value-based care management systems and contact centers.

“Scott is a utility player who balances his day as a technologist, systems architect, work flow/process designer, intellectual property attorney and operations guru,” said Hugh Lytle, Equality Health founder and CEO. “Under his watch, HealthBI is primed for incredible growth to bring pioneering data solutions to payers and providers on a national scale.”

Acquired by Equality Health in 2016, HealthBI was created to deliver tools that enable health care providers and payers to automate care transition, decrease the occurrence of emergency re-admittance and improve patient engagement and overall health outcomes. The HealthBI navigation platform aggregates patient data from practices, hospitals, payers and community care teams, to create faster, more effective population health management across all settings and lines of business.

“Throughout my career I’ve seen inefficiencies in data sharing and in the development of comprehensive patient care plans,” said McFarland. “The level and quality of engineering in the HealthBI systems blew me away. This technology is closing gaps in health disparities and making a real difference in the type of care providers are able to deliver.”

McFarland brings more than two decades of executive management experience to HealthBI, having held top-level positions at multiple leading health care organizations including: the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) where he served as CEO, Cleveland Clinic where he served as its first President of Wellness and Population Health and Healthways where he led innovation, product development and product management. Immediately prior to joining HealthBI, McFarland was SVP/GM of EXL Healthcare.

Members and patients who are served by HealthBI platforms have reported a 25 percent decrease in 30 day re-admits and a nearly 300 percent improvement in terms of closing gaps in patient care. To learn more about HealthBI, its leadership and innovative technology visit www.healthbi.com.
